I had the pleasure of visiting this little girl in the hospital when she was born and I have watched her grow into such a free spirited little lady. So, inevitably, I was extremely excited and honored when her mom, and one of my dearest friends, asked me to take her first communion photos. I, truthfully, was a bit nervous as well. I had never shot a first communion session before and I knew my friend had a specific vision in mind. Well…I am completely loving this session…it was absolutely a blast to shoot and the pictures came out amazing. I think they definitely capture this little girl’s beauty, purity, and innocence as she makes this right of passage in her faith. I hope you all love these photos as much as I do.

This sweet little lady comes from a mommy and daddy who share with me a love for Hawaii. Hawaii has such a laid back easy simple mindset and I think that is what this little beauty is all about. She was so perfect throughout our whole shoot. She was gorgeous as are all the pictures from her session. It truly was a pleasure getting to know this amazing family and capturing this sweet little girl who will no doubt will be surfing and at the beach very soon.

I had the pleasure of photographing this little guy…he was absolutely perfect!!!! He slept extremely well and did not pee or poop on any of my stuff (or me)…which is a very rare occurrence in newborn photography. I also could not resist taking some pics of big sis and Stanley, the dog. I shared a couple of these already on Facebook…but here are a couple of my other favorites from this session.

My little boy is turning 1 year old soon. I am trying very hard to document this time because he is growing up so very fast!!!! I envisioned him seeing the cake and loving it and digging into it and playing in it…like other babies I have seen…nope! He hated it…but I still love the photos even though he is crying in most.

Today I am starting a series called “Through a Child’s Lens.” It pretty much explains itself…it is pictures taken by my 2 year old daughter. The pictures were taken on our first digital camera…a KODAK DC290…with a 64MB memory card in it! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I am.

and finally…we went outside to take pics (and get the mail) and mama was taking some pics of her taking pics…LOL!

This was Livi’s reaction when mama started taking her picture…she was not happy! She wanted to be the photographer!!!!

Oh…and the mamarazzi had to get the picture of the photographer’s daughter taking her first pictures!!! (did you follow that?! LOL!)
